cus no one has posted in ageeeees (i'm just gonna keep on adding through the night)

Brown is the colour of chocolate, coffee, soil and faeces (sorry if you're eating, I couldn't think of anything else). Here's some of the better (hopefully) looking cars with that colour.

The problem with brown for me is that it is always associated with shitty 70's cars. Modern browns can look stunning, but that Volvo? Not to me.

like modern champagne-y copper-ish brown?

There were various flavours of crappy brown, mostly from being a flat colour, just add some depth and you have the difference between cheap plywood and polished mahogany.

I wish more modern hatches came in brown. The new Mazda 3 looks so classy...

I think that's because it was both popular in that era, and whatever cheap paint that they used for it didn't age well. Brown seems to age the worst of almost any color on a car I think. Even flat yellow doesn't look too bad, but if you don't wax and polish up brown paint, it will start looking like shit. Literally.

My step-father owned a 1972 Buick Riviera in brown replete with a 455.

The car had been affectionately named "The Brown Disaster." Needed more gear to get it out of the hole, but damn if it wasn't a ROCKET at highway speeds......

Love the pictures. There is something awesome about a classic car in brown. The modern cars don't pull it off quite so well, but it still looks good.

Notice that all the browns posted are from ~1970 and today. I think brown was an answer to all the pastel colors from the 60s. People tire of what's in front of them, and they'll jump on anything fresh. Fast forward to today: Brown is back, and people are loving it because it's different.

Give it five years, and people will remember that brown is the color of dirt, and it'll vanish from the pallet again until 2053.
